When oft-fired Walt (Shameik Moore) takes a job as a bartender in LATAWA and kicks his shoes off at his local bowling alley, AlleyCatz, he feels like he’s finally found a home. When money problems threaten the AlleyCatz, Walt is pressured by former bowler-turned-drinker Skunk (D’Arcy Cardenas) to embrace his role as the best bowler to ever walk this earth. While the pro tour is dominated by Walt’s penchant for big checks and his brash playing style, there are also detractors, including ratings-obsessed news anchor Angelo Powers and retired bowling legend Linda “The Crusher” Curson (Susan Sarandon), who desperately tries to extinguish Walt’s flame before it burns too brightly.
