Synopsis
A unique profile of British pop superstar Robbie Williams. It took a year and a half to get permission to film the lavish dance sequence on Regent Street in London because it is owned by the British royal family. Two nights before filming was due to begin, after a week of rehearsals, Queen Elizabeth II died and filming had to be postponed. Everyone had to be paid anyway, including shop owners and crew, and the production insurance did not cover the losses caused by the monarch’s death. The producers had to raise additional funds to film the sequence, which was filmed five months later. The title character, Robbie Williams, is depicted as a chimpanzee. Robbie Williams is not a chimpanzee in real life.
