Hard Livin’ Written by Chris Stapleton & Kendell Marvel Performed by Chris Stapleton Courtesy of Mercury Nashville Records Licensed to Universal Music Enterprises. Not giving “Juror #2” a wide distribution in cinemas is another crime that we can add to the prestigious repertoire of Warner Bros., because even at the age of 94, Clint Eastwood still has it. To call it effective would be a strong understatement, there is no easy way out. A poignant and thoroughly gripping study of Eastwood’s career-long preoccupation with guilt, justice, and the limitations of American law, turning the courtroom drama on its head thanks to Jonathan Abrams’ fantastic screenplay, the tension of which is simply unbearable at some points.
Although Toni Collette and J
Eastwood’s precise and wonderful direction is in abundance here, and all this is supported by a very exciting score by Mark Mancina, but it was the acting that kept me teetering on the edge while watching the film. Nicholas Holt never exaggerates the torment simmering under the surface, expressing inner panic to the viewer, but not to the people around him. K. Simmons is equally fantastic, although to be honest, I’m a little disappointed that Kiefer Sutherland’s role was so limited.

As in the case of the Arrows of his past, if Juror No. 2 turns out to be Eastwood’s last film (however horrible that thought is), then this man will leave in a triumphant glow of glory. See what movies and TV shows are streaming this month.
