Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads to them becoming lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in “Skeleton Crew” and more stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s young siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family sees in the infamous “Star Wars Holiday Special” (1978). Featured in AniMats Crazy Cartoon Cast: Silly Old Deadly Bear (2022). Watched the first two episodes, and while this is clearly trying to make a “Goonies in space” show, what’s so wrong with that? This is a very different take on a Star Wars universe story. I liked the look and feel of suburbia in this world because we’ve never really seen anything like it before. The town they come from reminded me more of the area in E.T. than anything we’ve seen in shows recently. The 4 main characters are typical but entertaining, each one has their clearly defined role in the group and is played well by the actors. The pirate vibe isn’t necessarily something we’ve seen before and adds a slightly creepy element and atmosphere of danger. Were this an 80s movie, it would have fit in nicely. I’m enjoying it so far for the new narrative elements in the Star Wars universe, the nostalgia of my childhood movies, and the fact that I get to share this Star Wars experience with my kids.
